Abstract
Acute pulmonary embolism is a life-threatening diagnosis that can present with a multitude of nonspecific symptoms. Practitioners should maintain a high level of suspicion for acute pulmonary embolism in high-risk patients. Obtaining an appropriate diagnostic evaluation and choosing an adequate treatment method may reduce the morbidity and mortality of this devastating condition.
