Ovarian Cancer: Molecular profiling to predict response to chemotherapy (2_PRO00000934)
Publication/Presentation Date
2011
Abstract
Participants who are already scheduled for surgical removal of pelvic or abdominal mass(es) will be asked to donate a small portion of the removed mass for genetic testing. Medical records will be reviewed after all cycles of chemotherapy have been complete to see how well participant responded to the treatment. Responses will be compared to genetic tests to see if responses can be predicted. Results from the study may increase overall knowledge of ovarian cancer, enabling researchers to individualize therapy and limit unnecessary treatments for future patients. Eligibility Inclusion Criteria-including but may not be limited to:
o Must be 18 years of age or older
o Scheduled for surgical removal of pelvic or abdominal mass(es) Purpose The purpose of the study is to identify patterns of gene expression to predict how well a patient will respond to chemotherapy.
